Gaza City - The rival Hamas and Fatah factions will present a national unity government to parliament on Saturday for approval, representatives of both groups said on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas and President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah have asked to convene a parliament session on Saturday for this purpose, said Abde Qader Abulnour, chief of staff for deputy parliament speaker Ahmed Bahar.

Abbas aides confirmed the information.
